#MarylandShowsUp - Every Day Counts!
As Maryland students head back to school, a new statewide campaign is reminding us of something simple but powerful: showing up matters.
The Maryland State Department of Education has launched #MarylandShowsUp, an attendance awareness campaign focused on encouraging regular school attendance and bringing schools, families, and community partners together to support students.
Regular attendance gives students more opportunities to learn, build relationships, participate in school activities, and stay connected to their school community. Even a small number of missed days can create gaps in learning and make it harder for students to stay on track.
Maryland is making progress. But there is more work to do—and it is work we can do together.
#MarylandShowsUp encourages everyone to play a role: schools can build positive attendance habits, families can reinforce the importance of being present, and community partners can help address the barriers that sometimes make getting to school difficult.
This fall, the message is simple: Start Strong. Stay Engaged. Show Up.
