2023 General Assembly Session

The Maryland General Assembly reconvened on January 11th, 2023 for its 445th Session. Throughout the 90-day period, PSSAM leadership and staff provided written and oral testimony on behalf of the organization to the Maryland Senate and House of Delegates as they conducted hearings on various bills pertaining to education. PSSAM’s testimony reflects our mission and chosen legislative priorities of all 24 superintendents.
While PSSAM does not publish formal legislative positions, we advocate on various issues surrounding education, including school construction, cybersecurity, student health, transportation, athletics, and other matters in a manner that best supports a diverse community of students, educational staff, and local education agencies.
