The Maryland General Assembly convened on January 10th, 2024. The Maryland General Assembly convened on January 10th, 2024 for its 446th Session. Throughout the 90-day period, PSSAM leadership and staff will provide written and oral testimony on behalf of the organization to the Maryland Senate and House of Delegates as they conduct hearings on various bills pertaining to education. PSSAM’s testimony reflects our mission and chosen legislative priorities of all 24 superintendents.

While PSSAM does not publish formal legislative positions, we advocate on various issues surrounding education, including school construction, cybersecurity, student health, transportation, athletics, and other matters in a manner that best supports a diverse community of students, educational staff, and local education agencies.
